DOL Rules that Were Going Into Effect Today Were Injoined

Implementation of the new U.S. Department of Labor regulations for Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime exemptions scheduled to go into effect today have been put on hold by an injunction issued by a federal district judge in Texas. Granting the preliminary injunction last week, the judge concluded that the plaintiffs had established a prima facie case that DOL had exceeded its statutory authority under the FLSA in revising the exemptions.
